PhD in Animal Science is a 3 Years Full Time Doctorate level course programme exploring the complete field of Animal Science or Veterinary Science having the sharp academic and practical intention to furnish ultimate knowledge to the passionate candidates.

PhD in Animal Science is a much deeper field than Post Graduation level of study. Admission Process

There are various colleges in India that offer PhD in Animal Science courses for the students who aspire to learn and serve their career to the animals. The admission for the course is conducted through entrance examination. The deserving students can learn the subjects after qualifying the entrance examination. The admission process for PhD in Animal Science is described below –

  • The students have to apply online at the official website of the college to register them for the departmental written test for the course.
  • The candidates who have already completed or cleared entrance examinations like ICMR/ICAR/CSIR/DBT/GATE/GPAT/NET are eligible to directly apply for the course without appearing for the entrance examination. However, they have to go through the personal interview round to finalize their admission.
  • Merit List will be brought out by the college or university containing the names of the qualified candidates for PhD in Animal Science.
  • The students will be called for a Personal Interview.
  • The admission of the candidates will depend upon the performance of the candidates in the entrance examination and personal interview both.

 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates have to successfully meet the following eligibility criteria to get eligible for PhD in Animal Science.

  • The candidates have to complete their Post Graduation level of education or M.Phil having specialization in Life Science or Veterinary Science.
  • The candidates must secure at least 60% marks in the above mentioned level of education.
  • The candidates should complete their Post Graduation level of education of M.Phil from any recognized university or Foreign University. 

Entrance Examinations

The aspiring candidates have to go through departmental entrance examinations conducted by the various colleges and the universities. However, the candidates who have completed entrance examinations like ICMR, ICAR, CSIR, DBT, GATE, GPAT, and NET can directly apply for the course bypassing the written test.

GATE – It is a national level examination which solely helps the students to get admission in different IITs or NITs in India. The examination is taken through computer-based online mode. The total marks of the exam are 100.

GPAT – Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test is a national level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The examination is taken through computer-based online mode. The duration of the examination is 3 hours and the students have to answer 125 MCQs.
