Rajiv Gandhi University, formerly known as Arunachal University, is the oldest institution for higher education in Arunachal Pradesh, India. Established on February 4, 1984, by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, it’s located at Rono Hills, Doimukh. The university has been striving for excellence since its inception, achieving recognition under section 2(f) from the UGC on March 28, 1985, and starting operations on April 1, 1985. It gained financial recognition under Section 12-B of the UGC on March 25, 1994, and became a central university on April 9, 2007.
