Vice Chancellor Message

• The Karnataka State Rural Development & Panchayat Raj University established in Gadag. Aimed to act as a centre of excellence to transform rural socity by the creation of dedicated, committed human resources which participates in the rural development process. I am grateful to the Government of Karnataka, Honorable Minister for RDPR, and officers of the RDPR Ministry for their encouragement, support and the keen interest they have evinced in bringing the University to national prominence.

• The University’s vision of Rural Development through the institutions of Panchayat Raj, is in consonance with Mahatma Gandhiji’s vision of Gram Swaraj. We, at the University, have adopted a unique blend of Academic, Research, Training and Extension (abbreviated as ARTE), leading to comprehensive and sustainable Rural Development through the institutions of Panchayat Raj.

• To foster and support the academic base, two centers namely Centre for Research, Innovation and Evaluation and Centre for Training, Publication and Supervision have been established. These centers undertake activities related to Research, Innovation, and Training in the myriad areas of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.

• The University started functioning from the year 2016 and the academic programmes commenced from the year 2017. Currently the University offers 10 Post Graduate Programmes in various disciplines under 5 schools of study. One PG Diploma Programme has commenced in the current academic year. The academic activities executed by five schools of study with young, energetic and qualified faculty members of the University from various disciplines,  are duly supported and guided by senior and eminent teachers, Honorary visiting and Emeritus Professors.

• The University has taken bold steps in the domain of research and Inaugurated Kalam Research Forum on the occasion of Dr. A.P.G Abdul Kalam Birth Anniversary to help and guide research scholars of the University.

• The university is engaged in a number of Student Centric and Community Centric activities. They are Naipunya Kendra- Placement Cell, Youth Red Cross, Atmavishwas- Competitive Exam Cell, National Service Scheme (NSS), Manochetana- Center for counseling, and Entrepreneurship Development Cell.

• The University has started Outreach, Extension and Training Activities like DeSSI Project, Model Plant Nursery, Water Conservation, Bio Diversity Park, Bio Fuel, DeSSi Malige, Apiculture, and Integrated Livestock Farming (ILF), Gow Shale etc. 

• In the words of Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister, “Khadi is not merely a ‘Vastra’ but a ‘Vichar’. The University staff and students wear Khadi on every Friday to mark and inculcate the Khadi spirit and to promote the ‘Eco-friendly’, ‘ethnic’ as well as ‘ethical’ products.

• “Swadeshi Day” is being observed on every Saturday wherein all the staff and students of the University take part in field activities which promote self-reliance and co-operation.

• We will strive hard to showcase development through implementation of various Programs and Projects because we believe that “Seeing is believing”.

• With the commitment and support from all the stakeholders, sincere attempts by the members of the faculty, staff and students, coupled with the blessings of Lord Sri Veeranarayana, the revered deity of Gadag, we are confident of realizing the Vision and Mission of this illustrious institute which will herald a new era of development in the rural sector.

• The KSRDPR University will reach greater heights by strengthening the local self governance system and to give impetus for the study and research for a comprehensive rural development in the state of Karnataka.
