Gujarat, being an "investor-friendly" state, has implemented many innovative socio-economic models for development. These models have allowed Gujarat to establish new benchmarks and standards in the fields of governance, investment promotion and infrastructure development. The growth model of Gujarat has presented an innovative and dynamic model of inclusive growth and development. Being one of the topmost industrially developed states, Gujarat has made huge strides in boosting investment, the value of production and the value addition in the industrial sector of India.
Development in the industrial sector is as high as 12.5%. Overall, it contributes to 16% of industrial production in the country. Gujarat is among the most desired states for FDIs. In FY18, the state attracted 4.66% of the total FDI inflow of India. FDI inflow of USD 25.63mn (INR 18,325cr) in the first quarter of FY 2019-20 was also received by the state due to which Gujarat Ranks 1st in the country in getting most FDIs.
Gujarat is one of the topmost GDP contributing states in India. Though it accounts only for 5% of the country's population and 6% of its geographical area, it ranks 5th in GDP contribution and GDP growth. By exercising fiscal obedience and rationalising the tax structure, Gujarat has consistently been a revenue surplus state which has in-turn enabled the state to launch major infrastructure projects thereby improving the quality of life of its citizens.

The Trust aims to provide exceptional education that spans various fields. The University is having its Women Development Cell (WED) functioning since 2011-12. The cell has been established to protect the women staff and students associated with the college from any sorts of injustice or sexual harassment of any nature directly and indirectly.
There is a women empowerment cell in the college to prevent sexual harassment. It also takes care of anti-ragging measures and other sensitive problems faced by girl students. The college takes every care to monitor and curb insulting and worrying act towards girls.

To make them aware of the guidelines of the Supreme Court and to ensure that sexual harassment is treated as an unacceptable social behaviour within the institution and society

The Women Development Cell is empowered to punish the guilty persons in due consultation with the principal of the university. The nature of the punishment is as follows:
Information to the parents.
Verbal warning.
Written warning.
Financial punishment
Information to police for legal inquiry and action (if situation arises so)
Expelling from college as per rule of university.
About
The Anti Ragging Committee is formed under Section 26(1)(g) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The committee was established to bring to the notice to all concerned that ragging is a criminal offence. In order to eliminate the scourge of ragging, many regulations have been framed to abstain students from harassing anyone. Severe penalties shall be applied to those found guilty
This committee comes up with definite rules that are also displayed on the notice board for the students to follow. The committee members conduct meetings at regular intervals, carry out surprise visits at the hostels, as well as on and off-campus areas. There are conformed consequences that students will have to face if found guilty of ragging someone. All the consequences have been mentioned and displayed across various sections of the university like canteens, restrooms, hostels, classes, auditoriums, etc. Apart from that, various activities are hosted such as awareness skits and other programs to make students aware of how ragging can affect people.
Objectives
Supervisory and Advisory Committee investigates the matter of planning action for building and preserving a ragging-free culture in the University.
To ensure safety, regular safety checks are carried out in hostels, buses, canteens, classrooms, and other places
Special mentorship programs are conducted as well where every student is provided with an individual mentor that helps them get acquainted with the campus and settle in. It is the mentor’s duty to instil life values and keep students away from any kind of negative influence
The Anti-Ragging Committee designs strategies and action plans to curb any kind of ragging instances. Awareness campaigns are one way in which students are informed about the consequences of ragging
The Women’s Cell looks after all the female students and conducts regular activities that help empower the female students
Definition of Ragging as per UGC Regulations 2009
Any conduct by any student or students whether by words; spoken or written, or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling a fresher or any other student with rudeness or any derogatory behaviour
Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which cause or is likely to cause annoyance, stress or mental harassment
Indulging in physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student
Compelling any student to do any act which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, torment, or embarrassment to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or any other student
Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts, or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or fresher
Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students
Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student
Any act of physical abuse including all variants like sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person
Any act or abuse through spoken words, emails, posts, or public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfort to fresher or any other student
Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student
What Anti-Ragging Cell attempts to do
The main aim of the Anti-Ragging Cell is to educate young minds about how ragging can affect people and what are the punishment provisions for the same. The department carries out action plans and designs strategies that help stop the menace of ragging in the university.
