Vice Chancellor Message

It gives me immense pleasure and honour to introduce a Women's University that is dedicated to provide quality education to a diverse set of students. Rama Devi Women’s University, Odisha (RDWU) sets an ambience, where women from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds come together to excel at each endeavor of their lives. It is a matter of pride for RDWU to have disbursed its role in ushering in a quantum leap in producing enlightened women force for nation building. This institute was established to commemorate the spirit of the nationalist icon of the state of Odisha, Maa Rama Devi Choudhury and set her as a role model for generations to come. The University is looking forward to create a responsible women resource pool by offering value based education.

The University is committed to ensure opportunities to girls and help them reaching their full potential. It is dedicated to dispense the best possible learning experience for its students. The University took it as a challenge to achieve sustainable development goals and responsible to promote regulated practices in the campus as well as in its 48 affiliating Women’s Colleges. Efforts have been made to ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to contribute to achieve these important Universal Goals.

The University is providing a curriculum that is aligned with the National Education Policy - 2020 and promoting inclusive education as a means to achieve universal development. Imparting education to the girl students on the contemporary global issues and equipping them with the skills to mitigate the issues can help to build – One Earth, One Family and one FUTURE.

Utmost care has been taken in inculcating the aptitude of research and innovation in the young minds through a well regulated research eco-system. The University is promoting self-reliance through start up and entrepreneurship development in collaboration with the "Start-up Odisha" initiative of the Government of Odisha. Focus is being given on holistic development of the students through integrating academics, research, extension and extra-curricular activities.

Emphasis is also being laid on maintaining the legacy of the University through alumni participation and contribution. The University is proud of its esteemed alumni and has built up a new brand for its notable alumnae Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the Honourable President of India, Padma Shree Smt. Aruna Mohanty and Padma Shree Smt. Damayanti Beshra.

In a broader perspective, this University presents a conducive campus where women dreamers come together to learn, grow, and make a difference by fulfilling their dreams. We ensure a basket full of opportunities and alternatives from where they can choose the best suited one. We look forward to work together with all the stake holders of the University, our students, faculty, staff and alumni to achieve the Universal Goals and build a better tomorrow for all.
