• Myself Professor (Dr.) Debabrata Mitra joined this Dakshin Dinajpur University as Vice Chancellor on 18.07.2023 after a stint of 28 years of dedicated teaching and research experience at North Bengal University.

• I humbly express my gratitude for giving me this great opportunity and this opportunity has been a blessing for me.

• All the undertaking at this university shall be guided by a philosophy and our philosophy is to connect and inspire the students, colleagues and other stake holders, provide leadership and stewardship, give hope and faith to the society so that it can excel in whatever it chooses to do with a strong sense of patriotism and equip the students with skills and knowledge to conquer the earth.

• Our students are the heart of our community. In everything we do, we strive to deliver outstanding learning experience. We acknowledge the diverse needs, experience and ambitions of our students and staff and work together to ensure a mutually supportive professional and learning community.

• Dakshin Dinajpur University shall continue in providing opportunities of higher education for students coming from various backgrounds. We are ambitious and forward thinkers with a strong sense of identity and community.

• Our biggest challenge is to understand your challenges and we will be seeking feedback since you are the best solution provider. Our aim is to set up a portal ‘Listening Post’, where in students, colleagues and stake holders can post challenges, obstacles in achieving their goal and we promise to work together to find out a solution. I can’t promise you to fix all problems but I can promise you won’t have to face them alone.

• While our mission is to set up our own building premises with world class facilities and infrastructural support, inspire students by extending access to university teaching and resources through flexible and inclusive opportunities for study and research. Our vision is to be a centre of excellence for lifelong learning courses which will be under-pinned by the best teaching, research and support for learning to meet the needs of diverse ambitions and intellectually curious students. 

• Staff and students will work together within and beyond the University to foster a vibrant learning community at tentative to the importance of promoting sustainability and social justice.
