• Employment Enhancement Training

Vision: To provide students an environment wherein they can learn, enhance their professional skills & upgrade employability quotient.

When students transition from university life to corporate climate, they confront a plethora of new challenges. To prepare the students for these unprecedented tasks on professional, emotional, psychological fronts is the core responsibility of the Corporate Resources & Interface Center. The curriculum is designed to teach and test the students for these circumstances.

The few activities are –

a. Job Fair, which trains them holistically for the selection process.
b. Class room sessions, where skills are taught and polished through group discussions, resume building & personal interviews.

Personality development, team skills, decision making capabilities, presentation skills, analytical bent of mind, strive for innovation, communication skills, along with positive attitude are a few qualities which the trainers of CRIC try to inculcate in the students.

The training team guides students to prepare for various competitive exams in addition to company specific recruitment processes. The pre-final and final year students are given extra grooming through specifically designed workshops which enables students to not only get their dream job but also seamlessly blend into the corporate world.

Dedicated placement team looks after corporate relations, career guidance and placements of the students. It plays a major role in liaisoning with different industrial establishments and manufacturing units for placements, guest lectures and skill development programs.

Placement team is committed to provide adequate opportunities to the graduate and post-graduate students for securing employment in reputed organizations throughout India. We provide a space for students to explore their entrepreneurial potential and connect with like-minded individuals. • Curriculum Design and Enrichment

IIMT University Meerut regularly undertakes purposeful and deliberate efforts towards the systematic organisation of its curriculum which is highly industry oriented and places itself at par with the trending advancement of the market. Few of our highlights of Curriculum Design are:

1. INDUSTRY ORIENTED EDUCATION APPROACH

IIMT University’s main emphasis is to make the students industry ready by the time their program is complete. The Industry oriented approach of IIMT University has duel dimensions:

• IIMT University invites consultations from the renowned Industry leaders at the time of updating its curriculum of any program offered. This includes revision of the syllabus for a particular subject or introduction of a new subject.

• Students are given practical knowledge on the application to apply on product design, development and operation.

2. STUDENT CENTRIC (CBCS)

As per UGC norms IIMT University has adopted CBCS also known as Student Centric pattern of Education!

The CBCS pattern allows the students to choose inter-disciplinary or intra-disciplinary courses and skill oriented papers. This provides more flexibility for students in their learning process.

CBCS system allows students the flexibility of selecting their choice subjects. The subjects are categorised into various groups allowing them to select subjects of their interest under each group.

3. INDUSTRIAL/CORPORATE TRAININGS & VISITS

IIMT University focuses on the overall development of its students hence, it regularly organises Industrial/Corporate Visits for the students from all its departments for their real exposures.

4. MAJOR/MINOR PROJECTS

IIMT University’s main objective is to nurture and develop industry ready students by the time they complete their respective programs. With this objective in mind, the syllabus of each and every course offered by IIMT University has mandatory projects that each student must do and the emphasis is given on a live project in the industry. They are also allowed to work on a novel idea if they have one, which can fulfil a certain need of the society. Many of our student’s ideas backed by our research department have been patented!

Engineering students have a minor project in their 3rd year of education while a major project in the final year.

Similarly to name a few; Nursing, Pharmacy, Computer Applications, Management students are also required to undergo mandatory industrial projects towards the fulfilment of requirement for attaining degee in their respective programs.

5. FIELD TRAINING

Fields trainings are an essential part of the academic curriculum for a number of job oriented professional programs being offered by IIMT University. These include: Journalism and Mass Communication, Nursing, Computer Applications, Engineering and Physiotherapy to name a few. It is compulsory for the students to sincerely complete their field trainings towards the fulfilment of requirement for attaining the degree in their respective programs.

6. CASE STUDIES

IIMT University’s Case studies are an essential part of every professional course running at IIMT because; they help in understanding and analysing the real life situations. It helps students in idea generation, critical thinking, strategy making and takes them one step ahead in being industry ready.

At IIMT University the curriculum of all the programs is case study based and the emphasis is given on having one case study related to their subject at the end of each topic.

Flipped class technique is used by our highly skilled and trained teaching staff so that the students come discuss the case studies and let others know their views on the situation. The university has tie-ups with various publications and corporate for providing real-life case study scenarios.

7. EMPLOYAMENT ENHANCEMENT INITIATIVES

IIMT University has instituted an extensive Employability Enhancement Programme (EEP) to develop the skills of the students and provide cooperate jobs. EEP’s main components are:

• Aptitude classes.
• Certification courses.

At IIMT University the objectives of career enhancement initiatives are to enhance students’ capabilities as per their career requirements, to create awareness and motivate them to acquire add on skills other than their subject.

For Value-added courses we have tie-ups with NPTEL, Amazon - Web Services, Google Developers (Train the Trainers), E-yantra, Swayam (free Online Education), Virtual Labs (An MHRD Govt. of India initiative), National Academic Depository (Transparency & Transformation through Digitization), Spoken Tutorials by IIT-Bombay, MSME, MHRD - An Innovation Cell for practical & professional training (Government of India).

Moreover, we have included following value added courses to our regular syllabus for various courses:

​9. CONTINUOUS EVALUATION

At IIMT University, the evaluation system of each and every program has two sources. The first one is from Theoretical exams. The second is through continuous screening of the students. Under this system of evaluation of a student, the students are marked for attendance, presentations, assignments, participation in class activities etc. This prompts the students to be attentive in class, focus on core subjects as well as have overall development.

Moreover, presentations help the students to get rid of their stage fear and express themselves. This inculcates a spirit of leadership and professionalism in the students.

10. ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT FACILITIES

IIMT University has a dedicated Entrepreneurship Development Cell for grooming the Entrepreneurs of the future.

• NCC

IIMT University and IIMT Engineering College Meerut both are successfully administrating NCC to the students from the last Six Years and are grooming them to serve the Society as well as the Nation successfully through this medium. 

At IIMT, our students get ready to serve the country by developing following manner: • Their character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook and spirit of adventure.

• By creating pool of organised, trained and motivated youths with leadership qualities.

• By giving the positive motivational environment to the students to join the Armed Forces. IIMT University Meerut had organised a NCC Camp IGC/RDC-2021 for 10 days in the year 2021 and it was held from 11th Oct, 2021 to 20th Oct, 2021.

IIMT University Meerut also organised a CATC NCC camp especially for Girls from 28th Nov, 2021 to 04th Dec, 2021 with the help of 72 UP Bn. Meerut and Girls 22 UP Bn. Meerut respectively. The Camp was headed by the Commanding Officer of 72 UP Bn. NCC Meerut, Col. Avinash Pitre and the Commanding Officer of 22 UP Girls Bn. NCC Meerut, Col. Pankaj Shahni. Over 500 cadets from Meerut, Agra, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Barailly, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur and Varanasi attended the capms at IIMT University Meerut. Out of the 500, 57 cadets were selected for Pre-RDC.

Out of these selected cadets, IIMT University’s one cadet Mr. Ritesh Chaurasia (B.Tech 3rd Year CS Branch) was also selected and he had the honour of participating in the Republic Day Parade on 26th Jan, 2022 at Rajpath Delhi and in the Prime Minister of India’s Rally on 29th Jan, 2022. We are so proud of all our NCC cadets and are looking forward to admit new cadets in our successful & growing NCC family!

• USR

IIMT University, Meerut is very firm regarding spreading the essence of Social responsibilities among the youth of the society. USR actually means SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIPS BY THE YOUTH AND FOR THE SOCIETAL UP-LIFTMENT. In a broad way, it is defined as to create a difference to the economic and social well-being of our society with the help of self-driven and motivating attitude of the students and faculty members. USR also aims to motivate society to share their ideas and innovations with us. The core objective of the USR club is to align with the United Nations sustainable development goals and worked to achieve all the 17 goals. The nature of activities organised under the umbrella of USR includes awareness camps, societal campaign, skits, workshops for underprivileged section of the society and on different societal needs etc. Various schools of IIMT University like IIMT Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, College of Law, College of education, School of Life Science Technology etc have organised timely activities under the USR umbrella. The USR cell is aligned with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell (UBA Cell) of IIMT university to work in the fulfilment of the societal needs. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell of IIMT University has adopted five villages. Our main objectives are:-

2. To create equality and diversity in such a way where diversity is treated equally and fairly as INDIA is a big bio-diversified nation.

4. To provide solutions at grass root level to the underprivileged section of the society.

5. To spread awareness among the children about their responsibility towards nature & nation, also develop the attitude of Right Choice, Right Decision and Right Direction which properly aligns with the objective of UBA-IIMTU i.e Smart Village, Self-Reliant and Self-Sustainable Village.

During the time of COVID19, Honourable Chancellor of IIMT University Shri Yogesh Mohan Ji Gupta initiated the movement in Meerut U.P., so that no single house affected with Corona sleep hungry, with this mission (SDG 2 Zero hunger), a team of social-worker worked and served the society. IIMT University organised “Bhandara” very frequently to serve the poor people of the society. IIMT Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital regularly organises various free Medical Camps “Nihshulk Chikitsa Paramarsh Camp” every month. These repeated exercises promote the SDG 3 Good health and Well-being. School of Life Science Technology and School of Agriculture endorses the afforestation and also donate the plant saplings to promote SDG 13 Climate action. IIMT University also works in the protection of endangered plant species. It adopts the alternate energy resources in its campus by installing the net-metered roof top solar panels, also adopts E-mobility in the campus to reduce the carbon footprint and promotes the SDG 7 clean and affordable energy and SDG 13 Climate action.

University has good infrastructure and adopts rain water conservation and harvesting approaches and also has a unit of solid waste management, planted solar trees in the campus which promotes all new innovations to achieve SDG 9 industry, innovation and infrastructure. IIMTU also promotes and adopts bio-organic farming practices. IIMTU provides shelters to animals like cows, rabbits, dogs, ducks, pigeon, and tortoises and promotes animal husbandry and in-situ conservation of bio-diversity. IIMTU is fulfilling its social responsibility by providing quality education to the girl children; it has tie-ups with rotary clubs and delivers free education to the under-privileged section of the society. These activities also fulfil the prerequisite of SDG 4 Quality education, SDG5 gender equality and SDG 10 to reduce inequalities. IIMTU’s Department of Biotechnology in collaboration with Global sustainable futures Network and Climate savers, work in the field of sustainability and clean water and sanitation SDG6. IIMTU’s Department of Zoology, helps in promoting the SDG 14 Life below water and SDG 15 Life on land by organising various sessions on conserving the fresh water biodiversity heritage. IIMTU has a student chapter of Indian water resources management to promote SDG 6 and SDG 17 i.e partnerships for the goals. University has various tie-ups with NGOs to provide industrial relevant skills to its students. University provides free skill-based learning and trainings to the underprivileged section of the society to achieve the objective of SDG 1 No poverty; also IIMT University frequently organises Employment fest “Rojgar Mela” to provide the employment to its students as well to the people lining in the Meerut District, with the aim to reduce unemployment and poverty.
