Vice Chancellor Message

Greetings and Welcome to I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU). IKGPTU-Jalandhar was established in the year 1997, with a mission towards Propelling Punjab to a Prosperous Knowledge Society. Ever since then the University has an outstanding record of producing renowned engineers, researchers, and academicians. Here we believe that educating students begins with compassion, respect, and academic integrity. Diversity is one of our core values, and we strive to inspire our students to be the forces of positive change in the world. Our University campuses and affiliated colleges are regularly working with a vision to fulfil the demand of industry concerned by providing them not only professionals, skilled employees, workers but also great human beings.

The brilliance in academics and research activities comes from the vigilant selection of faculty members in which IKGPTU has not made any compromise. University is having maximum PhD regular faculty at its main campus, constituent campuses & affiliated colleges. University Board is committed to provide its students best qualified faculty, best infrastructure and also committed to provide its faculty a global exposure too. It has gone to outreach and fetch scholars with excellent postdoctoral and teaching experiences from all over the world to enrich the education and research quality. With these exceptional facilities, the University motivates its students to achieve the highest standards of excellence in their courses. With the vision and determination of its team, IKGPTU is on an engrossing path of growth and development.

I am glad to share that we have attained ALL INDIA RANK 104 (in Engineering category) in NIRF-2020 ranking of MHRD. Today, IKGPTU has established itself as one of the excellent institutes in the country, but that is just the tip of the iceberg equated to the gigantic initiatives and evolutions the institute is making.

It is a proud fact for us that our passes out students are well settled in almost every country of the world. Our initiatives towards engineering, management, pharmaceutical and architectural education got various recognitions at the national & International forums.

We have made a spectacular start but there is a long way to go nevertheless I am pretty certain that with the dynamic teamwork of our entire faculty, staff, employees, collaborators, stakeholders, students, parents of the students, constitutional bodies, and public at large, we will be able to achieve the maxims of IKGPTU.
