Vice Chancellor Message

By the virtue of the blessings of the Supreme Power and good wishes of you all, I feel immense pleasure to share that I have taken the charge as the Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat, India.

I feel pleased and gratified to be the head of an institution that has striven for all-around quality in all aspects of higher education, the result of which is its accreditation graph over three cycles of NAAC assessment. In 2014, it became the first State-funded University in Gujarat to be accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC. This is the byproduct of dedication and concerted efforts from all corners.

Students are our brand ambassadors and for their holistic development, the University not only provides a vibrant and positive ambiance but a well-equipped library, clubs, sports and extracurricular activities, etc. to facilitate them.

As we look to the future one thing is certain –technology and knowledge will be the key possessions and also these will be the most sought-after within the Country and around the world. Therefore, it is our duty to help generate ideas that will benefit society, educate and train people to work in the fields where they will be valued for their specialized knowledge.

Any institute of higher education should be known for its research activities. My prime priority will be to promote research activities at university which aims to develop innovative solutions to the community’s most daunting challenges. By creating a good ambiance of research and academics it would be a place of extraordinary interactions. Definitely, it would be very much helpful in illuminating ideas and fostering intellectual innovations. In addition, my priorities are to provide quality enhancements in the education of international standards with local and national needs offered by institutions affiliated with Saurashtra University and facilitate intensive efforts to nurture good faculty.

I extend a cordial welcome to the students joining the University and wish them a very hopeful and successful professional career and life. I am confident that you will feel proud of being allied with us and make us equally proud of your academic excellence.
