About Us

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER) is a deemed university located in Mysore, Karnataka,India. It was established in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a variety of educational institutions. This deemed-to-be university is recognized by UGC/ MHRD .Under the leadership and gracious Patronage and blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji , the Chancellor of JSSAHER and Vice Chancellor , Dr.B.Suresh, a noted multifaceted leader in India, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research has made great progress in grooming graduates, postgraduates, and PhD researchers of great acumen by providing effective value based education in all the institution .

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is focused on medical and health-related studies, and comprises JSS Medical College, JSS Dental College and JSS College of Pharmacy at the main campus in Mysore as well as another pharmacy college in Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu, India. With a view to extend the horizons in the field of Health Sciences, the Department of Water and Health, Department of Health System Management Studies and Department of Life Sciences was also started under JSSAHER.

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research has also played a pivotal role in ensuring that the students and faculty benefit through wide-ranging international tie-ups. The  alumni groups helps JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research to build global networks. Multidimensional partnerships with faculty and institutions around the world help foster the flow of ideas. Faculty members collaborate with colleagues throughout the world to support cutting-edge research.

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research was rated 4 stars in Excellence by QS -Quacquarelli Symonds Ranking agency and first Health Science institution nationally to be awarded with 4 stars. The Pharmacy program was awarded 3 star and being the first institution in India to receive this recognition from QS

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is ranked in the 251-300 band globally and first nationally in the subject category of Clinical, Preclinical and Health, which includes Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences. JSSAHER not only   features in the subject ranking 2019, but also made a mark among top 500 and top 5 Higher Education Institutions nationally and ranked third in India. It was also ranked 64th in THE Emerging Economies Ranking 2019.

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research also ranks among top 50 universities/Higher Education Institutions in India for the last three consecutive years by NIRF- National Institutional Ranking Framework by MHRD, Government of India and accredited with A+ Grade (CGPA of 3.47 out of 4) by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during 2018 re-accreditation. It was also been granted autonomous status Under “Institutions Deemed to be Universities” by UGC for having maintained higher standards of Excellence.
