Vice Chancellor Message

• The Nirma University, Ahmedabad, is an initiative of the Nirma Education and Research Foundation. The Foundation realised the need for excellent education for Indian youth way back in the mid-nineties. What started as a small college in the form of Nirma Institute of Technology in 1995 has now emerged as an impactful national higher education institution.

• Our real strength is the alumni who hold important positions in leading businesses and government organisations in different parts of the world. Some of our alumni have become successful entrepreneurs and generated wealth and employment opportunities in India and abroad.

• Our current students are highly meritorious and dedicated to their studies. They are selected through a rigorous selection process and are further well-trained in the various fields of professional education. Many of our students pursue higher education from the best universities in the world and are recognised among the brightest students. Discipline, dedication and determination exemplify our students.

• The university provides hostel accommodation to all desiring female students and has recently developed infrastructure for this purpose. Moreover, we are continuously developing facilities like Student Plaza and New Central Library. At the plaza the students can socialise and interact with one another. The central library will have a much larger social space for the students.

• The university aims at enhancing the student experience through ICT facility. We are regularly boosting adventure sports, sports, cultural, and co-curricular activities. The university has NSS and NCC Units which carry out activities like the blood donation drives, plantation drives, health check-ups, etc. along with other extension activities.

• Nirma University was awarded the Centre of Excellence (CoE) status by the Government of Gujarat in January 2022. The university was accredited with ‘A+’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in April 2022. It also has most of its institutes NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) ranked. All the Engineering, BPharm and MBA programmes are NBA (National Board of Accreditation) accredited.

• The university focuses on providing international standard of quality in higher education by improving the faculty-student ratio, recruiting research-oriented faculty, creating research infrastructure, promoting international collaborations, and developing linkages with the industry.

• As India strives to become a great nation, the Nirma University is contributing to her endeavours through its students, who would be the future leaders of our country.
